Michael Fischer-Art's comic-like pictures and graphics on the brochures familiarise us with the City of Leipzig by illustrating the city in a pleasant' playful and modern approach. To date the Leipzig artist has drawn attention to his works of art by launching spectacular campaigns and presentations not only in his home town, but also in Frankfurt/Oder, Dresden, Sydney, Chicago and New York. Among diverse graphic productions, there is the project "B Zwei", covering concrete surfaces along Leipzig's B2 with plastic panels with colourful designs. The artistic remodelling of the new building of lecture rooms at the University of Dresden is also one of the highlights in Michael Fischer-Art's creative works. His first two publications "Der Weg zum Farbschock and zurück" (1995) and "Das Diplom and andere organisierte Verbrechen" (1997) are classified as culture objects among fans.
Michael Fischer-Art, born in 1969, is the "enfant terrible" of the East German art scene. The colours and shapes he uses cannot be daring enough. And he treats everybody who deserves it to a dab of paint: Jürgen Schneider in his cell. The creative agent of good taste shocks the world with his colours. |
